In view of the advancing climate change, it is becoming more and more urgent to abandon fossil fuels and switch to the use of renewable energy sources.

With the green electricity generated from renewable energy sources, water can be broken down into its components hydrogen and oxygen without emissions by means of electrolysis. The hydrogen produced in this way can be used flexibly as a clean energy carrier and storage medium. Hydrogen also has other versatile uses and represents a sensible alternative to fossil fuels.

The hydrogen economy will play an important role in the ecological and economic development of many nations, especially in developing countries with high potential for solar and wind energy, creating new jobs and contributing to global growth.

RH2K Project

The current RH2K pilot project involves the use of a 5 MW power-to-gas plant that combines the electricity and gas sectors. The renewable electricity is to be converted into green hydrogen through water electrolysis, which in turn can be used in various applications. The green electricity provided for electrolysis is to be sourced from renewable energy plants. This will contribute to decarbonization, particularly in the areas of mobility, heating and industry.
This will create a regional hydrogen-based infrastructure along the value chain, from production to distribution and utilisation.
